{"id":2999,"date":"2017-04-27T17:00:32","date_gmt":"2017-04-27T17:00:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.elizabethfram.com\/Blog\/?p=2999"},"modified":"2017-04-27T17:00:32","modified_gmt":"2017-04-27T17:00:32","slug":"reframing-what-goes-on-in-the-studio","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.elizabethfram.com\/Blog\/reframing-what-goes-on-in-the-studio\/","title":{"rendered":"Reframing What Goes On In The Studio"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In general, I don&#8217;t think there&#8217;s enough discussion by artists about the nuts and bolts of what we\u00a0do\u00a0that <em>doesn&#8217;t<\/em> involve creating art. <a href=\"https:\/\/artbizcoach.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Alyson Stanfield of Art Biz Coach<\/a> has and continues to make tremendous headway in helping us\u00a0understand and gain ground\u00a0on\u00a0the non-making side of our\u00a0careers, but I do wish more artists would draw back the curtain on\u00a0their individual approaches to the business end of their practices. Practice-wise, I was only able to accomplish my daily sketches and the beginning stages of two\u00a0new textile pieces. First, I do\u00a0my best to make at least one daily drawing. A half hour minimum is\u00a0doable most days and not only lends\u00a0a sense of grounding in its regularity, (no different from any other type of exercise), but each\u00a0page filled in a sketchbook gives me\u00a0a concrete sense of productivity in a way computer work\u00a0can&#8217;t. I particularly like that\u00a0they complete\u00a0the cup and saucer pieces by providing subtle visual support without grabbing too much attention.
